Turns out things didn’t work out so well for the Patriots, and their replacement for Tom Brady.
According to Channel 8 WMTW, citing a report from ESPN, Patriots Quarterback Cam Newton is not likely to return to the team next season, after an overall disappointing season for the team.
Newton signed a one year deal with the Patriots last summer. Incentives could have earned Newton $7.5 million, but estimates suggest that he’ll only earn about $3.7 million, based on his performance with the team.
The Patriots wrapped up their 2020 season yesterday with a win over the Jets, ending with a 7-9 record. They missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
