This year, it’s more important than ever for folks to be staying home for the holidays. And a Maine senator is trying to do something that will make our time at home a little more enjoyable.

According to News Center Maine, Senator Angus King recently wrote a letter to all of the top streaming platforms, urging them to present their content free of charge for the holidays. The letter was addressed to six major providers – Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney +, Apple TV+, Hulu, and HBO Max.

King says that offering the services for free during the holidays would not only boost the morale of the country, it would also encourage more people to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic, at a time where the number of cases continue to rise.

While the first round of vaccines arrived at hospitals all around the country this week, many states, including Maine, are seeing their highest number of daily cases since the pandemic began in March.

Would free streaming for the holidays from Netflix, Amazon Prime, and others make you more inclined to stay home for the holidays? Let us know, with a comment on the Facebook post!
